The Southwest Community Concert Band, in conjunction with NazArts, is offering a Summer Band Camp open to junior high, middle school and incoming freshmen band students.

Thank-You for an exciting 2007-2008 Concert Season

The Southwest Community Concert Band would like to thank our loyal patrons for supporting the band and our various programs with your attendance, enthusiasm and generous donations during our 2007-2008 concert season. Your generosity aids our mission of supporting our children and community through such programs as our annual Christmas Food Drive. You helped Southwest Community Concert Band donate over 500 Lbs. of food and give over $300 Dollars to local food pantries. Another aspect that you have contributed to is our scholarship program. This year, five junior high and high school students received $1375 in scholarships to help with the advancement of their musical education.

This season, several local artists performed with our band including a guest choir at our Holiday concert and a local theater group performing on our Spring Concert. You were there to share the rich history and lives of some of our greatest American composers such as George Gershwin and Leroy Anderson.

Our park concerts brought us to Evergreen Park and we will gather again on Independence Day celebrating our Veterans, Cantigny’s 50th Anniversary, and Lincoln’s 200th Anniversary of his birth.
We graciously look forward to seeing you next season.
